Homelessness is pretty threatening especially since its extremely expensive to be poor. Not only will you lose your equity on a home you own due to econonic conditions when mortgages are upside down but they can charge you for making you homeless. I think one neighbor offered me thousands to help her clean during an eviction because the authorities wanted to charge her 10k for the eviction. I have no idea what that means but I do remember being charged $1500 for tow fees for my car. I got into an accident and the cop wouldn't let me call my insurance to tow my car back to my house. They threatened to revoke my license if I didnt pay by x date but I sent them a nasty letter telling them they stole my fucking car. Basically, the threats are real. In one bosses situation he had a non disparagement so he wasnt allowed to complain and he had golden handcuffs, his pay is tied to leaving quietly after his contract is over otherwise no reference in a small industry with few jobs. Hence why he was suicidal and I was suicidal. He had two young babies to take care of and a wife who can't work. Several jobs bullied me out when I reported theft from client accounts and other fraud and I've never recovered financially or socially. If you don't have a job, your friends are not your friends. All you can do is make new ones.

I am so sorry to hear all of this.

We have a lot of drinks at the office or other social events - I feel like it just disguises how stressful people find the work!

Oh wow!
Our manager always discourages us from speaking up. She tells us not to go to HR but to go to her instead. And if we went to her, she swept everything under the rug.

That’s not a manager
