When moving companies, is it better to rollover to your new employer’s 401K or personal IRA?
What does big tech in house counsel salary look like? Is there a salary scale? Are there unspoken benefits that make it closer to big law salaries- like by stock options, 401k match, other perks?
Can someone tell me who Deloitte uses for daycare reimbursement? I left the firm and no longer have access but I have money in there that I haven’t had a chance to submit a reimbursement request for
Have any of you quit to take a break - 3 month or a 6 month sabbatical to pursue other interests or just to clear your head and figure out what’s next. How easy was it to find a job after the break and how did you manage your health insurance? Any other things to keep in mind when considering a sabbatical beyond money?
HCL vs Wipro , which one is better for a person from SAP Technical background considering onsite exposure, work culture , pay and benefits ?
Anyone else feel like they’re behind on the savings benchmarks? I’m close to 30 and have $35k in checking/savings and about $40k in 401k/HSAs. I do have my student loans paid off along with my car, but all the articles I’ve read say I have way too little saved. I make about 78k currently - thoughts?
Not in IB or ER, but I have to ask (per CFA study), how common is it to run in to troublesome pension accounting issues? It seems like most companies have/are going the way of DC plans and away frm DB
Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.
Don’t judge, I started late to the saving party. I’m 60, have 401k savings at 1.2M, split with 90k of that in Roth 401k. My question is should I change my investments to full Roth 401 for my last 7 years of work, or keep as I currently do and only put the catch up in Roth? I also backdoor $6500 each year.
Any recommendations for good Personal Finance help books (investing, 401k, passive income) for beginners? Thank you in advance!!
For all the talk abt how fucked us Millennials are, we are saving twice as much as baby #boomers & they could be on track to retire richer than their parents.
Out of the Big 4 and Accenture, which is considered the best in terms of benefits, culture, and WLB?
Ideas on the programs to motivate remote workers to exercise/be physically active? Apart from step counts and paying for a gym membership. We already have monthly reimbursement but I'm looking into ways to engage people and motivate them to actually use the money for the purpose. Some internal campaigns or funny competition but how to measure progress?
Looking for some investment advice. I am 24, make $125K+$50k bonus. I currently max out my Roth IRA & 401K, invest in my HSA. I am living at home for a few months so have extra cash lying around. What should I do with it? (Already use a HYSA) I would like to buy a house / property in 5 years or less
Can we claim airtel black bill consisting of mobile bill and xtreme fiber bill under internet bill reimbursement?
I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!
Any fish from LEK London willing to refer? Currently interviewing with other top consulting firms in London and keen to pursue LEK YOE: 6 Appreciate the help!
I want to know Big4 Advisory / Strategy and MBB Consulting reviews from employees based out of US offices mostly in WLB, culture and how do you manage your lifestyle with such long working hours P. s. - I have worked with two of the Big4 advisory firms, I don't feel a sense of ownership in the work and on other hand working hours are long, weekends are saving grace atleast in the current firm.
Expecting an offer for a senior role at another shop this week. All I can think about is if it would be crazy to ask for the M1 MBP 16 during the negotiations 😩
I currently have an interview for a Risk Manager role at FB, does anyone have any tips? also what does anyone have any insights as to salary for this position
I’m job hunting for Software Engineer roles in the Toronto, Canada area. For context, I graduated in April 2020 when Covid became the worlds problem and many were let go. I didn’t want to stay unemployed so took a role as a PM. I’ve recently revamped my portfolio and am ready to start applying for roles again. Any software engineers have any tips for me as I embark on this journey? Thanks in advance!
Is it typical in workforce implementations for the directos to all go out of office for weeks? Or is this just because it’s summer and vacation season…
Does anyone practice healthcare law? More specifically pharmacy? It’s a new area of mine and I am STRUGGLING. What helped you? I have plenty of free time to grow! Any guidance is appreciated.
New hire in west coast here, talked to a MD in the office when I was on the bench and he got me staffed on one of his projects, should I email saying thank you for the opportunity or ping him.

My creative director is like an absentee father to us. He's there for kickoff, to shut down our ideas days before the pitch, and then otherwise aloof. I never know what he wants. Anyone else relate?
Anyone familiar with the Operational Excellence & Transformation department at Truist? They seem to be on a hiring spree. Prior to applying I want to know if it's a good jump from consulting/how they are viewed by other consultants. Currently a SA at a Big 4 with 4 YOE.
Why exactly is it so hard for people to understand that ESL and Special Education teachers are in fact that: teachers? I'm bilingual so I constantly get called in to translate for parents in the office as well because it's so hard to get a hold of the district interpreter. Today I was teaching a lesson that took us on a scavenger hunt around the building and the nurse stopped me. "Oh! This is why I couldn't get a hold of you, you're playing!" What? I tilted my head and replied, "I'm TEACHING."
Cleared first round business screen with amazon, scheduling technical screen later this week followed by Loop after- any idea what to expect? It’s for a Senior Solutions Consultant role
Is it feasible to make a jump from BizOps to TAS? No accounting experience. One of my good friends says his team is aggressively hiring because they are desperate for talent and he would be able to get my foot in the door. I’m a finance major who has only had consulting/industry experience, but if they’re actually paying what he says they are then it’s a no-brainer for me to jump if given the opportunity - I’d just be worried about failing without a CPA/truly relevant work experience.
How frequently should one expect or advocate for a raise at a small firm? I moved to a new firm (about ten lawyers) about two and a half years ago. After my first year I got a 20% raise following a brief and exclusively positive performance review. Its been about 17 months since then and silence. I have the general sense that the firm struggled a little financially during COVID and I don't want to seem ungrateful or greedy, but apparently the firm is doing well enough to hire more associates.
Anyone at Google willing to refer? I want to apply to a role I’m interested in. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏽 Google
When would we ever have 360° feedback for seniors and staff to rate and provide feedback to their managers? Upward feedback has been a thing in Big tech/ banking but non-existent in big 4 consulting
