All the people I know who work there are smart and nice people. All the negative comments from big four and IBM/ACN just show insecurity to me; ZS does great work in healthcare space đ€·đ»ââïž
ZS is a top healthcare and pharma firm. Actually almost accepted an offer from there. Anyone who went to Ivy League undergrad or M7 knows them. I think you ZS guys are really smart, so donât pay attention to those B4 haters!
If you know you know
It's okay that you haven't heard of us. We are silently advising on all the biggest strategic moves in the pharma and med device space đ€
Cool. If you guys were good then you wouldnât have to tell all of us that.
This thread cracks me up. Management consulting is full of egomaniacs. Who CARES?!?! Why donât you all pull your d**** out and compare size, it will be quicker and more entertaining for all of us
ZS has Napoleon complex
If you donât know ZS, you probably havenât spent enough time in life sciences.
If you think ZS does strategy, you are probably working at ZS and have never worked elsewhere.
Depends on what practice area you are in. ZS has a strategy and transformation arm, for example
I think you guys do mostly financial management stuff. I have no idea what markets you serve, and have never knowingly encountered Zs as a competitor for work I've bid on.
If you went to a top 15 bschool, youâve probably heard of them. They sponsor, and do 2nd year tuition reimbursement for returning interns, which doesnât hurt in getting strong talent.
I am ex ZS. Grateful for the experience and I am glad I went there before McKinsey. Great training for building basic consulting skills. I like to think it significantly reduced my suffering my Mckinsey
I'd also like to hear about your move. At what level did you do it and what was your process like (i.e. did you apply via a referral, how long was the process, what was the hardest part about the process, etc.)? I'm a 1.5yr A, West coast that wants to do more strategy work and do work in digital health and financial services. My burner is fishybowl9@gmail.com
While I wanted to joke and say âwho?â it looks like another ACN person beat me to it. But honestly, I have a good perception of ZS, my ACN CC (manager/mentor) is from ZS and he is a rock solid guy from work ethic, intellect, moral compass and all around friendly. He is well received by the MDs and I presume will soon be one.
Unfair assumption implied by his/her departure
No surprise that KPMG, IBM, Accenture, PwC haven't heard of ZS. Stick to what you know đ
Pro
ZS is a bigger player in the life sciences than any of those firms are at any single industry
Yes, heard of ZS. One of the founders was my professor at Kellogg. Seems like a good form from what I have heard; strong in pharma and sales territory setting is what I know.
Heard of zs, mid sized firm, about .5 bil revenue. If youâre in the med space youâve probably heard of them and if not you, your clients for sure have. Slalom runs into em every so often. Never heard anything bad about em. If youâre in the space and you havenât heard of them, youâre probs just not paying enough attention... probably should change that.
ZS = Napoleon. We do solid work in healthcare, and like to compre ourselves with MBB in that space, however nobody has ever heard of us.
From another mid-tier, high degree of respect for ZS. Strong talent, and specific areas of strength given limited scale (same for most mid-tiers). Not overly familiar with the firm but often liken then to an LEK
Honestly, why do people get wrapped up in this âperceptionâ of their company? Are you happy with your work? Are you challenged? Do you feel like your growing your career? Are you compensated competitively? If you answered yes to those questions then who cares what other people think?
Could matter for exit opportunity reasons.
For most people itâs probably ego, though.
Didnât hear of you guys until recently when a friend of my sisterâs received an offer and it was realllllly good pay (heâs a campus hire) and I looked you guys up and was impressed with your mostly healthcare/pharm clientele!
Think of it as not a competition to B4. Decent firm but one where we could easily hire talent from, yet none of ours will go to them.
ZSers typically donât go to big 4... considered a step down
Heard of it, good reputation in the pharma and healthcare space - but have never competed against you guys on any proposal as far as I know
I do HC and havenât crossed paths. What type of work do u do? (In a prior life I hired u to do sales force territory mapping.)
Ditto, who? But again, not sure I play in the same realms as you, I donât do healthcare work at our firm
