My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

Anyone get asked to complete conflicts prior to a formal offer being extended? Not sure I want to disclose clients before accepting said offer.

As a (class of 2020) second year whose several classmates from different groups are already thinking about leaving/going to other firms, should I explore other options too? Don’t know if they’re being dramatic about how bad it is or if I’m just drinking the koolaid in my group?

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? Have an offer in hand in my market of choice, going to ask my firm if they will formally let me transfer to their NYO, and if not, I plan to put my notice in.
