Soliciting ideas for a big closing lunch with clients - near or close to bryant park, my first pick was Gabriel Kreuther but they only do Thurs/Fri lunches (ours would be Tues). Ideas for upscale restaurants appropriate for corporate clients? They said “anything but steak” ha.

Sushi Yasuda, book the entire sushi counter

like

That’s a boss move. This is fun.

Koi is nice for lunch. Upscale but I wouldn't call it super duper fancy.

Where did you go in the end? Whose suggestion came out on top??

Also, am I invited?

Oceana near Rockefeller center is pretty good, and only 7 blocks up from the Bryant park area

like

Last time I went to Del Friscos was awful. Their “house rub” is basically just a ton of salt, and the steaks came out cold

Hatsuhana is solid. There are other super nice sushi spots too.

I feel obligated to say Bryant Park Grill, which feels too obvious here. STK is very good too.

like

STK is so undeservedly pretentious (and has the name of the thing the client’s don’t want to eat in the title).

like

Kellari taverna!

like

A new Italian place called Valbella just opened at 3 Bryant Park. Menu looks good, but haven't been.

like

I second Kellari and Oceana. Both excellent!

Zuma is close-ish

Sushi Ginza Onodera if you feeling fancy. Best omakase in the area!

Give them good - not fancy.

I'm torn on the Dr. Pepper work. Nice overall campaign. But soccer being a gateway drug to lacrosse has me laughing and conflicted simultaneously.

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

How can I sell my 2 years of clerkship as valuable experience for corporate work? I would like to get credit for at least one year (at least in salary, if I can’t in seniority). I know for litigation they are more clearly valued and linked to that type of work, but I have reconsidered my interests and now am thinking of going into corp. However, I don’t want to feel like I wasted 2 years clerking (which I don’t feel like that, but I have to convince an employer of that too). Any help or insight?

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!
