Hi I have an offer for the role of Product Manager from Sapient. Can someone provide how's the work culture there ? Also, are these roles put on bench first, and then taken in for client projects ? Also, any thing to be aware of w.r.t. the pros and cons ? Thank you.
How significantly are exit opps impacted as a SC2 vs M1 if trying to make the move towards Corp Strategy? Debating if it makes sense to stay on and make Manager. Travel burning me out.
🐠 what’s the better exit opp: Deloitte digital at a manager level or KPMG at a director level? Currently at a manager level with 10+ yrs exp and a Masters. Assuming comp is roughly the same.
Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.
I’m a staff at a midsize firm. Only been here for 10 months but want to go to big 4. Most big 4 career pages are only hiring senior positions… will I have any luck securing a position preferably in audit by end of year?
What should be fixed ctc expectation at Infosys for 10 yoe.. Tech Arch role offered. Current 17lpa.
What are realistic career paths for BDRs that do not want to be an account executive? I have been a BDR for 4 years now and looking to get out of sales but unsuccessful so far . I’ve interviewed for social media roles, BDR manager roles , always falling short on what they are looking for. Beginning to think I’ll just have to accept a career that I hate that brings me no passion and try for AE role. My ideal role would be in product marketing or social. Any advice?
How often can one follow up with a recruiter? Do recruiters talk to hiring manager daily?
Morning All! Any advice for how to get a job at Barkbox—what they’re looking for or a contact to reach out to? Ive applied a few times in the past but never even get to the interview stage. They’re hiring again, figured I would ask some advice. Thanks!
Curious to hear thoughts and stories about growing within a firm when you’re in a niche area. I am in a specialty area which although unique will never be as large as many other practices. I enjoy what I do but I don’t see doing it for the rest of my career. How do you pivot into a “bigger” or different role? Would love to hear about your experiences.
https://hbr.org/2020/01/what-top-consulting-firms-gets-wrong-about-hiring thoughts? Article mentions case interviews as a poor predictor of performance.
Submitted a resume to a recruiter for a job last Monday. They called me within 2 hours and asked to schedule a phone call. The call went well, and they sent me all the necessary paperwork they need me to sign. I signed it within the hour and sent them an email saying I’m looking forward to working with them. Haven’t heard anything back since then. Is that weird? Does the recruiter actually think I am a good fit for the role? She sent me the name of the company and everything.
Anyone has Enterprise MDM or identity management expertise? Our Series B startup is looking for a Senior Product Manager. I can offer a referral and send more details if you are interested. Thank you!
I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now
Currently in risk consulting, but have opportunities in management consulting and private equity (both tier 2). Thoughts on better career path in terms of W/L balance? Money? Enjoyment? Exit Ops?
Apply your skills to create positive behavior change and social impact. We are hiring a strategist/comms planner for a public health marketing agency based in San Diego. I’ve been with the agency for years and love the brain candy. Always a good challenge to dig into. Role will focus mainly on substance use prevention - ranging from fentanyl, meth, alcohol, marijuana for teens, etc. Ideally seeking candidates working in Pacific time, but recruiting nationally. Agency experience a plus! https://rescueagency.com/careers/position-description?gnk=job&gni=8a7887ac77831b52017784299090435c
I got laid off and 3 weeks later a SC from HR sends me an email about an opening at the firm. Should I apply???
I’m completely burnt out from work and I’m considering taking a break until the end of the year or so. The challenge I’m having is this deep rooted anxiety of having a “gap” on my resume. Is that something that’s still a red flag to hiring managers or am I overthinking it? If you’ve done this, I’d be so curious to hear your thoughts! I know I’m in a privileged position to be able to consider this, I’ve found this bowl to be so supportive and helpful so any thoughts are welcome 🙏
Hi I was planning on applying to Blackrock for their Corporate strategy and development summer internship program. Could someone help me understand the job responsibilities better?
Next $billion startup: something around onboarding/wfh/wfh setup/company benefits Twitter, FB, others are moving away from offices and the market here will be huge. Anyone want to brainstorm ideas?
Folks, please help me to decide. Accenture 17.5 Fixed, 4.3 Joining Bonus. Synechron - 22 Fixed, 1.5 Joining Bonus. Should I negotiate with Accenture or Join Synechron ?
Have 12k AA points expiring in a few weeks. Mostly a Delta (sometimes United) flyer. What should I do with them?
Got verbal offer, want to educate myself on LTIs specifically restricted stock units. If the company says the compensation includes 50k RSUs, does that mean 50k granted each year, or a cumulative one-time amount that could be granted over several years? Or could it mean both without further information?
This has extreme 'bargaining with a child' energy.
Analysts who left in their 1st year either (voluntarily or laid off) where did you end up and how long did it take you? Consulting isn't for me and I'm obviously only eligible for entry level roles
I am working for 12-14 hours a day in a non client facing role at one of the big 4. What are some of the exit opportunities I can think of in the next 1-2 years? I want to have a 9-6 job with decent pay.
I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)
In the past year, I doubled my salary, achieved a lot of my short term goals (non-financial), but I've understandably been pretty exhausted. I know it shouldn't matter but I ran into my toxic ex-boyfriend's best friends (from 5 years ago), and boy it felt nice to see their faces in shock when they asked me what had been new 😅 petty, but reminded me of how far I had come since then and felt good to say aloud to them
Did I miss the pasta challenge? 😜. Blond Puttanesca (Spaghetti with Tuna, Baby Spinach, and Capers). A quick dinner. Ingredients: Italian tuna packed in olive oil, capers, red chili flakes, garlic, anchovies, baby spinach, roasted panko bread crumbs with lemon zest, Italian parsley, black olives, black pepper and lemon wedges.
I’m newish to this and not sure. If your extension isn’t signed yet, you can’t continue work for the client right until it is? At old firm, it was continue work then charge code for previous time/wk.
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
Worked hard, won business and asked for a raise - got 10%. Now closer to median salary for my YOE. But it’s not in effect until my first year anniversary which is 2-3 months away. Should I accept the raise or negotiate?
Boston folks who travel, how long before take off do you get to the airport? I have to fly out of Logan Wednesday at 7:45 and my parents (MA locals) are telling me to get to Logan at 5AM. I find it hard to believe I need almost two hours to go through security.
Thoughts on IBM associate data science consultant position? Have an offer for the Watson Health team and looking to hear about others’ experiences
Does anyone have any suggestions for leveraging an earned-but-unpaid bonus at your existing employer to counter a job offer? My firm is among the biglaw firms that have announced special bonuses to be paid out later this year, and I have an in-house offer in hand.
Hi guys, I am due to start working at EY soon within audit. I will be commuting to the office by train when in the Birmingham office. This will be from Leicester. Usually if a commute is about 1.5 hours+, Mazars authorises hotels. Is there a similar policy at EY? When not in the office I would prefer to drive to clients, not sure if me being in Leicester affects whether they will tell me to suck up an extended commute? Would a mileage claim be from the office to the client? Thanks!
Which is your preferred company for renter’s insurance? Considering Lemonade due to the low price, but should you just go with the big players? (Geico, State Farm, etc).
