First and foremost having integrity. This includes keeping their word and setting a good example. I think knowing well the condition of your team members and caring for them as opposed to just treating them as servants. What does everyone else think?
From a bottom-up approach: great communication skills, listening with empathy, trust, and accountability. From the top-down: same plus resource management, effectiveness (includes being organized and timely), and ability to attract/foster/retain talent.

Support the team members instead of talking down on them
Someone that listen and actually selflessly encouraging their subordinates
Someone who exhibits characteristics of being human. Someone who respects boundaries while helping you to progress, assuming that is your goal.

Good managers are effective communicators, they listen to their employees, and they are excellent problem-solvers. And above all else, they show leadership qualities.
Good managers are not managers, they're leaders. Good leaders support and take pride in their team. They are in tune with their team, the environment, and what actions need to be taken if/when the environment needs an adjustment. Good leaders have open and regular communication with their team as individuals and as a team. They encourage and empower their team to grow - offering support when needed, allowing for failures without judgment, and celebrating success.
