I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? Has anyone implemented Workday without experiencing massive regrets? It seems to be far more complicated to run advanced reports, export data timely, and be productive from a reporting standpoint. Also, has anyone had any luck with Reed Group as their leave management vendor? I’ve implemented Reed Group with both Lawson and Workday and the results have been abysmal each time from an integration standpoint.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

I’ve been through 5+ weeks of interviews with a company that will IPO next year and they did a bait and switch on me with the offer: it was advertised as “Head of” and then during the offer-walk-through-meeting today they said “oh btw we changed the title to ‘Senior Manager’ for this role”. They offered me a salary I made 4 years ago as a manager. They offered stock options with an exercise price TBD 1 year from now…which is when they’re hitting IPO. Is that normal for stock options?

A criticism of firm attorneys I see re: transition in house is that they don't think like a business person. My SO is in house and I feel like I have a decent sense of the requisite mindset and considerations and how it differs from a firm Would it be tacky to say something to this effect in cover letters or interviews ?
