Do it you’re fine. Make sure they know you’re a “new” senior.
Do it, but don’t tell them you’re a ‘new’ senior. You’ll do great.
The difference, I feel, in that jump is your ability to sell in your ideas and bring people along—convince them why it’ll work.
A senior creative needs to take the initiative…if something needs to get done, do it (or make sure it gets done, without going above your creative leads).
Be proactive so that your creative leads don’t need to tell you to do stuff, because you’re already on it and can even present them with your plan.
(Super important emphasis on NOT overstepping hierarchy — just be a proactive problem solver.)
Also, a senior should basically never let any little details slip by…e.g. “We are using em dashes in this way consistently” “We consistently use Title Case Here but Sentence case here”. Basically perfect execution of anything you produce. And an excellent ability to incorporate feedback.
Presentation skills should be sharp. Know when to say what you should say, and know when you should pass the ball to another team member who can better speak to overall creative vision, strat, production logistics, etc.
Don’t undersell yourself. No need to harp on being a “new senior”….your resume shows your roles. Be an eager learner. On the job learning is the best training.
