I'm an IP Attorney for a global Fortune 500 company. I only focus on IP mainly patent prosecution, Right to Market searches, Patentability searches, Landscape Searches, advising the business on IP related agreements.

What are some secondary skills or speciality that could make me more than just an IP Attorney? Do any of you have other parts of your title? Just looking to grow and my head isn't super interested in that, but the CLO is, but doesn't know where he sees a gap for me right now.

It's my first month in a new job as Product Owner. I went from a company that digital product development was their secondary focus along with consultancy services, to a company that their only focus is the product. The difference in scale as well as the different domain, certainly feeds into my imposter syndrome. What are the things I should focus to achieve within my first few months at the new job?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. Hi guys! Had a call with a recruiter and they asked for my email to send me the link to apply. Haven’t heard since the initial call, thinking I might have failed the screening call. Would that deter you from applying online? For context, recruiter reached out first and the company was not on my radar before. After some research I got interested, but haven’t articulated that clearly enough on my call (didn’t expect I was going to be asked questions and thought I would just hear about openings).

Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

I accepted an offer I’m not 100% sure about but want to work internally instead of on client work. Is consulting a safe backup if I want to return? I’m a bit older (mid 40s) and with ageism in tech, I worry if I don’t like this role, I won’t have options there. How do I stay attractive to consulting firms? The non-compete mentions I cannot work for a “direct” or “indirect” competitor during or for 2 years after working with my current company.
