I started a new job as an “office manager” at the end of January. The duties seem to align more with those of an EA, and I’m ok with that. Except my boss is a control freak. He scolds me over every little thing, how I load the dishwasher, maybe I didn’t push my chair in. Last week he told me I needed to work on my appearance. I was shocked. I bought all new clothes from Ann Taylor that are perfectly acceptable for business casual. He hates me. Move on ASAP or try to stick it out ?

What do you do if you know what the incharge told you is wrong(no question) and you mentioned to him that the way he tasked you is no longer per firm policy but he insists on you testing his way?

Been talking with a couple of co workers about our boss. He had hip replacement about a year ago and since then he's been more and more erratic in behavior. Since the team is remote we're not sure what is going on, but should we mention this observation to HR?

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?
