I’ve been looking for an in-house position for years now and I’m emotionally worn out. I got through numerous rounds of interviews with one company recently, only for them to pass. I’ve cried and prayed over this, finally realizing that it may not be in the cards for me. I hate my firm and law firms, so I’m trapped. It just sucks because I’m an over-achiever but I’m failing miserably at my legal career. Did anyone have any luck with landing an in-house job after years of trying? Any advice?
Any insight or information regarding a project controller analyst/consultant position (hours, type of work, travel, etc.)?
What is the culture like at Facebook? Thinking of exiting into a product owner role or just general pmo type of role. Good company to work for?
Been looking at LinkedIn profiles for the acct/finance staff for a client. Many of them have B4 experience, but they all seem like they're doing dead end work. Makes me re-think exit ops. Advice?
Is anyone from McKinsey willing to answer a few questions about the interview process? Applied to a few roles. Wanted to find out if there is a way to increase the odds of getting an interview.
How do you approach an interview with your potential direct report where YOU are the one being interviewed? Some background: I’m 34 with 10+years experience but look like I’m in my mid-20s and have a pretty youthful (but not immature/ditzy) speaking voice. The potential direct report is male and looks like he’s probably in his mid to late 20s. Last time I was in this situation, the agency passed because they wanted someone with “more experience.”
Any 🐠 looking to hire a consultant with S&O + M&A experience? I have a diverse range of experiences across industries and verticals and would be an invaluable resource to any team (my manager’s words, not mine). Interested primarily in tech or retail. Currently interviewing for two FANG positions in ops, but would love to expand my search! Thanks!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Interviewed with a non-F500 for their CorpDev team. Received the offer letter but it says "Business Development" instead. Should I be concerned? Or are these terms generally used interchangeably in the industry?
What apps/systems do you use to keep track of all your projects and tasks for the various matters you're working on? I recently took on a more senior associate role and am juggling even more projects and assignments than before. I want to make sure I am putting my best foot forward and keeping track of everything I'm juggling so I don't drop something by accident.
Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
If I have not gotten an interview from a school at this point for Round 2 (Stanford, Haas) is that a definite indicator of a rejection or waitlist? Nobody gets in without an interview, right?
Hello... This is for Deloitte guys. I have cleared the interview in Delloite and have signed and sent the letter of intent and it's been 11 days and I still haven't received my formal offer letter. Also the HR is not picking up my call. She just once said that it is pending with the offer management team. Do you have any idea if this takes so long or where has it gone wrong? Please let me know if you have any idea. I am really really worried. Thanks.
I’ve got a PWC FDD case study interview soon. Any tips on how best to prepare/what to expect? I’ve already read through other posts and they’ve mentioned to understand the types of due diligence adjustments that occur, EBITDA adjustments, and QoE analysis. Can someone suggest a good resource to prepare? (Apart from me googling) Thank you!
Very young professional here - what is the etiquette for interviewing for jobs during the work day? Every place I look only offers times during working hours. I’m not sure if this is just normal / the way it is - how should I maneuver things respectfully?
Best way to prep for the McKinsey PEI interview?
Looking for advice. Have an upcoming tech case study as a final interview stage for VP technology consulting role. There is nothing to prepare in advance. Interviewer will brief me over Zoom and give me the case study instructions. I have the remainder of the first hour to prepare based on the scenario provided. In the second hour, I will present my response to the case study to a panel. Afterwards, there will be an additional time for interview questions and discussion with the panel.
Want to leave the Big 4 because I am not particularly enjoying the service line I am in. Have been offered another role at a smaller global consultancy, but less prestige than the B4. Seems like I will get varied experience there but scared to leave the security and comfort the B4 offer. Any advice fish?!
For those who’ve had Covid, did your cough come and go? I’m having pretty bad coughing attacks in the morning but resolving itself by midday. Hoping it’s just allergy symptoms but wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience that turned out to be Covid
WHY do big tech companies make the candidates write algorithms during interviews? I am a senior software engineer and I can say with surety that SSE rarely write algorithms unless you are working on building something totally unique (like a new search engine).
I committed to being here for 3 years to get that pension $. But it’s been 6 weeks and I already hate it. Someone please tell me it gets better.
Quick question. If you have an approved I-140, and want to switch jobs, does the new employer need to restart the green card application for you? How does this work? Thank you!
I think I asked for too low of a salary during initial interviews elsewhere. The recruiter never told me the band either. About to go into second round. Is there still a chance to ask for more?

Does the Kellogg PT program require the video essays? Submitted my application yesterday but have only heard back about scheduling an interview. Nothing about the video essays. Thanks!
Need genuine advice. Been planning to move abroad permanently for quite some time but due to pandemic situation, all plans were put to rest. I am having FOMO seeing others still trying to get things done by the way of finding jobs and applying for them. Should I apply too? Not sure how employers are acting towards foreign workers atm.
