$10mm today isn’t what it used to be with inflation. You need to make atleast $30-40mm to be successful now
--> "most people" can Crack a 7min mile in their 30s or even 40s because everyone can train / go running given the time & effort
--> "most people" in the world will never have a path to $10m no matter how much time & effort they put in
True that D2
Anyone can get the physical stuff with a lot of hard work. Net worth of $10m requires a significant amount of lucky breaks and even then so many things can go wrong.
Exactly. Significantly easier to get in shape and far less luck required.
I’d be happy with $10M+, I can then work on getting fit
Those running times aren’t impressive. Go for the $10m
If you have $10m you can probably refocus on your health without giving up your net worth
If you have good fit and want to earn $10m, you might need to sacrifice your health
The answer changes after 40 though

To have a financial sense and aware of what is actually possible in the real world.
Which , going by the post and most responses in the bowl is incredibly difficult to achieve. It’s fascinating that the most liked post so far believes that 65 and $10 M is not impressive if you are out of shape. That would put you in top 1% households in America. For over 65, that is a rarity.
If you get a house that is paid off by 30s and you started from scratch- that would be impressive personally. And if you can actually differentiate between 1 million and 10- that would be bonus

Is this now officially a meme? Can I kill the joke by declaring it a Meme?
The reality is that nobody cares either way, don't make life decisions based on what you think other people think.
Reality check: Nobody in standard consulting (Big 4, MBB, etc.) has $10M by age 30. And if someone does, why on earth would they still be working 60-hour weeks in consulting with $500k+ in passive income rolling in?

Analyst thinks 30+ is old, lol. Aside from professional athletes, if you work out semi-regularly you won’t notice the slowdown of your body until 36-38, if your endocrine system isn’t shot for some reason. Slightly slower recovery perhaps. Even then it will only become pronounced around 42+
