I’ve seen it situationally allowed but generally you can’t take PTO after you’ve given notice. Part of the reason is that the exit process begins with your notice, and PTO payout is one of the subprocesses and your taking leave jacks with their calculations.
You work for a week, you don't work for a week.
Can you give a bit more context?
I don’t think it’s allowed. No PTO during the notice period. They could technically just kick you out immediately.
Firing you would result in even less time to transition. They care about power over you, not a smooth transition.
This is very firm and situation dependent. 2 week notice is intended for you to spend those weeks transitioning work and knowledge, they're not intended as a timeframe for you to still be on payroll as a technicality while on PTO. If one week is PTO, either give notice at the end of the PTO, or give 2 weeks notice earlier, get your PTO paid out and then leave.
