2-3 weeks
Yes. Two weeks notice and then either start the following Monday or take a week off in between. I’d highly encourage the latter, though I’ve started immediately when I had preplanned vacation or something, so that I wouldn’t go negative in vacation time.
I just had a new hire take a month so she could travel a bit. Can obviously take longer if a move is involved. 2-3 weeks minimum and average, but 4-6 weeks isn’t unheard of.
You decide.
Yeah take as much time as you can while you can so you can start fresh and ready to roll! This is the best possible time to take a breath for yourself.
there isn't one. .
I've gotten offers after a few days, and offers after a few months.
Ask for what you want! I gave old job 2 weeks notice and asked new job for 4 weeks before starting so I could come into the job refreshed and without old job angst. We settled at 3 weeks. Though it helps that I’m filling a new role, rather than replacing a previous hire.
