Patent cliffs, changes from research and development to search and development, AI, offshoring/globalization of roles to India, economic uncertainty in the US, IRA and health care under more scrutiny from the US govt around drug pricing, etc, etc, etc.
👆🏼spot on, policies by previous and current administration disincentivizing drugs development, lack of budgets, fda resources being fired
I believe AI and economic uncertainty is driving it. I’m hopeful that this is a sector that isn’t threatened as much as others
Do yall think the industry will pick up? I’ve been trying to make lateral moves with 8 years of experience and 2 large bio pharma and no luck.
AD2, if I had to guess the buzz around AI will probably slow down in the next 4/5 years once companies realize what cant be replaced and/or it becomes more regulated. By then current economy will hopefully change, different president (my guess would be democrat) which will increase govt spending, and possible swings to sourcing jobs back in the US. You also have the aging baby boomers looking to retire increasing demand...long story short, I'd think 2028-2030 it will an employee market again. But still so much has to play out and see what happens...
