Hey guys! So I’m starting to get interest in joining the FAAS sector within EY. My recruiter is asking me which part I would like to join, Finance or core/commercial. Does anyone have any insight on which might be better for growth, hours, work life balance etc? Would love to hear your thoughts EY

Hey my Kewl Ppl Making Guesses (KPMG)
Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

PMP
PMP. It proves only you can read and pass a test.
I had someone try to take my spot on a good project by going behind my back to the senior manager saying he was a PMP. Senior manager laughed and now this guy reports to me (and isn't that great anyway)

D3 do you put "HS Diploma" after your name? That's what most of us in the big four think when we see someone with PMP after their name. Leave the technical school certifications to the HCLs and Wipros.
Ya but within gov contracting you need a PMP to qualify for a lot of projects. That said, I think it has value there. At PwC everyone in my account has multiple certifications and puts them in their Linkedin as well as their email signature.
I've had a PMP for a few years now. It definitely opens doors to new projects and employers. But I can't say that studying for the exam made me a better PM.
Ah - to answer directly, a PMP is more overrated than fireworks. A PMP is about as much a credential as being able to use a calendar (which I'll say is a challenge for many).
Few people fail the test. That may be part of the problem. If prep companies can guarantee that you pass, then the test isn't exactly the CPA exam. The certification is certainly valuable - I have it. It opens doors. But it has little correlation with an ability to manage projects or people. Being able to use the buzzwords is not the same as "adhering to PMBOK standards." PM certification is a good thing - but changes are needed to make it more meaningful. Starting with the PMBOK.
Dumb question. I'll try to do better.
😄
Is it worth it from a comp/resume perspective? Or does no one care?
What's wrong with pmp
Nothing wrong with it, but don't start putting the pmp after your name on LinkedIn or a resume, congrats you passed a test you re not a f'n MD
PwC 3 they're in the LinkedIn so the auto job search finds them. If you need a PMP to do a job and that's more important to them than your BA BS or MBA then you're working in the wrong place
EY 2 - you clearly either didn't read my post or don't understand fed contracting.
You're an idiot EY2. Talk to someone in fed consulting. There are contracts that require a PMP. Therefore it's a box that needs to be checked in some cases. Dumbass.
Did you fail the test and that's why you're so salty about it ? How old are you anyway?
