In a similar boat as you and receiving offers outside of D for 95-110k @ 1.5 YOE. Only reason I’m kicking the ball on responding to the offers is because I’m up for SC; once the promo + merit raise plus AIP come in its a <30% raise to jump firms (which is what I personally set my bar at). We’ll see what the “record YE compensation” looks like..

Other cyber/tech consulting firms. Not ready to jump to industry yet but do have colleagues who have transitioned to industry and enjoy what they do (and they are handsomely compensated vs Deloitte).

No one outside of your project leadership at Deloitte will know how strongly you're supporting your team, so it's a bit hard to use that as your proof point for higher pay.

like

Ah ok, the challenge is you won't have leverage if they give you something less than what you think you're worth. You'll need a competing offer.

It doesn‘t matter where you go. Incentivized by money is not a very strong motivation and will never make you happy with your job

I'm an entry level consultant in Dallas at a smaller company. This is my first job in consulting and I've been here about 7 months. My experience has been good in terms of work life balance, autonomy, and culture. My only real issue is my compensation. I was happy with it at first, but with the workload and expectations I'm feeling undervalued. My base is 82k, 5k signing bonus, no annual bonuses or anything. Im wondering if I should start looking elsewhere or if I'm just getting greedy

Any insight into Mastercard Advisors? Have a new grad opportunity there. My start date at a B4 strat got postponed so decided to interview around. I'm interested in data + analytics and would want to go into industry eventually, but conflicted because unlike BA programs at CapOne or Visa, you're still working for an external client. Feel like there will be a broader variety of projects in B4 and while I'm casually interested in fintech, I don't want to get pigeonholed in FS so early on

Something on my mind is how I often hear my white male friends complaining about affirmative action biasing their mba eligibility, but when I point out white people have it easier than Asians they become very defensive. Funny how they can see themselves as the victim but not that they benefit from the system. Would y’all agree with the premise (Asians have it harder than white people)? If so, have you noticed this white defensiveness in your life?
