~2 months or so but depends on the role. If there’s a case involved and the size of the firm. Smaller places tend to drag things out a lot more Bc they’re looking for personality fit as well.

2-3 months. Agree on smaller places taking longer. Have an process at a mm pe that's been going on for 6 months and still have 2-3 interviews left

100% impossible for a blanket answer. Every firm is different — especially when it comes to lateral hiring....

Got an offer for SE III at a large tech company. Product I'd be working on interests me and I think I could grow more than in my current role.

Currently I make 180k base and have ISO/RSUs @ startup (60k/yr worth on paper, but won't be worth anything for a few years, if at all).

The offer is:
Base: $166,500
Target Bonus: 10% ($16,650)
RSU: 120k total (30k/yr)

Thoughts on offer? Should I counter?

Additionally there's a yearly target RSU bonus about equal to the cash bonus. Thoughts? 4.5 YOE

“What’s important are your skills… not your degree”. Got an email from our communications group at work today. Some coworkers who have a degree didn’t get this. Any chance my firm matches an outside firm (2 separate firms with offers in the same range, actually) for the exact same position if the salary increase is almost 40% (~$40k)?
