Is anyone else having the worst time switching jobs? I’ve been applying for a year and haven’t gotten any job offers even though I get interviews. If anyone knows of a headhunter I could reach out to though I’d be so appreciative! I’m so frustrated….

Currently, nothing exciting about my job at Big 4 so, would like to give myself 4-6 months before I give a shot at FAANG+M, any suggestions on what key skills I should focus on and tips for interview prep? Open to learn any new skill (hard or soft) that can improve my chance at faang. All suggestions that help me plan and execute this journey are welcome.

If a project you cut earns awards (i.e. in the film category) that are not specifically editing craft awards, do you include them on your resume?

I have been going on interviews and noticed 2 department heads already assume I was laid off or fired due to a 4 months gap. I explained I left my last role due to short term health issues that have been resolved. Not even sure how to respond when they assume. Any advise? Thanks!

I'm an attorney in Big Four with a JD/LLM. I am looking to leave my firm but I am only taking interviews for big law. I've had a couple of them and even though nothing has completely materialized, that's the path I want to take.

I find the random people on LinkedIn who reach out to me to be incredibly annoying. Regularly, a recruiter from either a big four firm or even non-big four firms.

I almost find it insulting because they can be relentless

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. I'm lucky I landed C jobs at BCG and Bain in Doha. Please, I need your opinion on the below

1.BCG is T1 in the region while Bain doesn't seem so. Do you confirm? And the trend?

2.Interviews/negotiations went great with Bain vs BCG more acrimonious. Does my experience reflect structural cultural differences (pressure, up or out, cutthroat)?

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

In November 2021, i was working in Tcs at a package of 4.1 on Mainframes. I was not happy at all with my career. Learnt a new technology(Cloud). Gave interviews, rejected by few companies including Deloitte. Kept going..
Joined Accenture as a Cloud Engineer. In December 2022, I will be earning a package of 12. Got one certification, aiming for 2nd one. All this within a span of 12 months. These are brilliant times in tech. Keep hustling. Success will be yours.

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. How do you feel about getting homework for jobs?

We're altering our interview process to eliminate a homework assignment we give to candidates. It's about 2 hours of varying difficulty questions.

The VP wants to replace it with a 1 hour pair programming exercise because he thinks experienced candidates won't bother with homework. A lot of my experienced colleagues would be fine with the homework as long as it was within reason.

What's the consensus? Homework or nah?

How do you deal when you know you’re just so burnt out? I feel it— everything is magnified, home life feels more chaotic. I’m looking for jobs. Getting nowhere and lots of automated rejection notes. Work demands are never ending. We have staff, not the right staff, so a lot of work falls to me. I never get to turn off. It’s wearing. I’ve been trying “take care of myself” going to yoga, getting a drink with a friend, but the demands leave me feeling like I never get to be idle.

I made the switch from marketing to PR this year. I basically went from having 15 years of experience to being a newbie in a different subject matter. I miss creative development for ads/web/video, having more tactics to integrate into strategies, and the leadership opportunities I had managing junior team members. I don’t miss 50+ work weeks and measuring success from my stress level. I like my team, but I feel underutilized. Should I sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride for a few years?

When pitching for earned media content how many follow ups do you tend to send? I always send one but never know if two would be helpful or start to become annoying for the the reporter/news desk.
