As someone who moved to Denver from DC 5 years ago, I couldn’t disagree more.
People are nice in Denver. Try new circles, maybe?
Yea, probably not hipster enough.
Disagree coming from DC
I am a transplant and have lived here 30 yrs. Fact is its not about where someone comes from, it's about how each person chooses to conduct themselves. You can't predict what people choose to say and do for sure.
Rising Star
We lived in Denver proper for 20 years and moved to Littleton a year ago. I find people here extremely pleasant, friendly, and relatable. I would never hesitate to ask a stranger a question and find strangers striking up a conversation me regularly.
I spend about 20-30% of my time in Winter Park, and people are even better there.
Most likely transplants from texas or California.
I think people here are friendly but they are often interested in different things. Starting a conversation with what you do for work or restaurants would be normal in other places I've lived but not here.
Unless you do something rly cool, like have a side job as a go-go dancer or life coach… or, better yet, are good at dog training!
Sorry that you’ve experienced this OP. Where are you meeting people? Or, where have you experienced unfriendliness? Genuinely curious.
It must be you and / or you must be from Texas. People are very friendly
Yeah, can confirm that people from texas are not great. Even good, most of the time.
It's the people from Chicago and the east coast... not people *from* Denver
Chicago transplants are mostly chill, I find. The Chicago folks that are hung up on Chicago all stayed there I guess.
OP - Sometimes personalities and styles clash, try another neighborhood, different scene, or amusements.
If you’re having trouble getting along with everyone, maybe look for the common factor in all those relationships?
