Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
Hi there! Interviewing w/Amazon for a non-tech role (Associate Category Manager aka Associate Buyer) and was asked what my salary requirements are for base+bonus+equity. Can anyone share insight on what Amazonians make in this role. I have 4 YOE and glassdoor is not very helpful.
Any feedback is appreciated 🙏 Amazon

I also put negotiable. When I am asked, I always say something like I'm negotiable, but I'd also like to learn more of the in depth responsibilities before providing that information then ask if they have a range they are targeting.
Many times the applications won't let you put anything except numbers in those boxes. Put what you're worth or what your goal is so you can explain it during the interview.
I avoid the jobs that don't put a salary range. Especially the ones that say we offer competitive pay with no salary range listed. I guarantee none of them are actually competitive. But then you get the ones that offer a pay rate so laughable you wonder how they're still in business. And they're brazen enough to openly post it. A couple years ago Claire's in my area was offering $13/hr for Assistant store manager positions. No ones going to touch that with a fifty foot pole.
If you're so embarrassed by the pay rate you're offering you're only going to offer the job to someone too gullible to know better. Or to someone to shy to know and fight for what they're actually worth.
