Not at all. It’ll be easy to figure out if you’re on LinkedIn but no need to tell your current employer before you leave.
I’ve never heard of such a rule.
My last firm had several people not disclose where they were going because they were afraid the firm would reach out to the new employer to try to get the offer revoked. I was always surprised that they thought the partners had that much pull, or even cared that much. They were ok with most of them leaving.
Why would that be necessary or how would it be enforced? You can do whatever you want. I’ve always disclosed for practical reasons (being polite to sort of maintain the relationship, knowing they’d find out anyway), but nothing made me do it
No it isn’t necessary. I usually disclose if they’re not direct competitors to maintain a good relationship (I.e. I know they won’t be upset I am leaving for new firm).
