Every workplace has favouritism I feel, but as long as it doesn’t affect the majority of your work it’s fine- as soon as it starts to change productivity in a whole team though it’s definitely something to discuss with their manager to see if things can change

Absolutely, when it starts to affect the team then that is really a problem

I would also say it almost always affects the team because there’s two or three people getting better raises getting better assignments getting better accolades than the people who don’t suck up. They just come in. They do their job they go home. Just because I set up a day for potluck does not make me a high performing employee!

I just had two of the weirdest interview. I was interviewing for a payroll systems mgmt role and the first guy was a finance mgr and he didn't ask me anything. I basically interviewed him. The 2nd interviewer was the hr systems lead. She had read my resume and was super weirded out that my current role is the same as hers. I think she thought I was interviewing to replace her. She kept asking me what I would be doing. Like dude, do you not know why you are even interviewing me? Hard pass.
