When traveling for an internal/firm project, do we use our personal card for expenses like meals and Uber then submit for reimbursement? Or use the Amex?

Use Amex for everything if not gps

If you’re GPS, use personal card to claim per diem for meals. Use AMEX if Uber is work related.

You're traveling 😳

My American citizen 8 month old is on tourist visa in India; current stay runs out on June 7. Flying outside the country is a risk we don’t want to take w/COVID. Don’t want to overstay the visa either. So we applied online on eFRRO to convert his visa to X-1 so we can apply for his OCI. They didn’t ask for payment and message popped up saying watch your text/email for next steps. Anything else I can do?

However , when I live at MSFT , Apple they have increased 350% in last 5 years . What stocks should I invest with at least 5 years in mind ? Something safe but with returns better than index funds. I just want to create an additional income stream since I was growing my real estate business for these past few years and now I’m waiting and saving for future opportunities and I’m bored and would like to increase my cash more.

If you are planning to buy a house soon, here's a great way you can save taxes.

When you usually sell your shares, it attracts taxes. You either pay STCG for less than 1 year or LTCG for 1 year or above. Even if you sell your existing property, you would have to pay taxes on the capital gains.

But, if you have plans to buy a house, use the Capital Gains Account Scheme (CGAS) to save taxes.

How does CGAS work?

Let's say you bought a few shares in 2017 and want to sell them in 2022.

I left my old job the end of January (due to compensation) and hate my new job. I don’t sleep and am constantly stressed. I have been interviewing since May, but I can’t seem to find a good fit that has an insurance Plan that fits my needs. I am thinking about reaching out to my old job (very small and tight knit) to see if there’s a position available for me still. They told me there would be when I left…what is the best way to go about this?

Looking for advice (& empathy): Started out in advertising, then became a journalist. Moved to the US for grad school, and back to advertising few years ago. Now stuck at a company where I’m deeply unhappy but they sponsor the visa (not H1B, so it’s not a huge ask). Also not too sure of advertising as my heart is still in journalism but this pays the bills. Wary of other companies that might push me into working (most) weekends and evenings +Still don’t fully understand the US job market. Tips?
