Yes, people are being staffed for 50 to 55 hours officially. On top of that you are expected to do non client work, trainings etc. Be prepared to spend atleast 12 hrs of your day with Deloitte related work if you plan to join.
Sorry if I sound rude, but that is the reality. Some teams are really good, but who knows which one you will end up in.
Worst part is you have to complete useless compliance trainings on weekends as you get no time for that on weekdays..!

Dude if you dont believe that WLB is non existant at B4, then why dont you leave your sweet industry job and join B4 for yourself. Mast maza ayega 💯
WLB swings drastically. You have one good week followed by three terribly bad weeks. More so nowadays when the firm is experiencing shortage of resources (they fired ppl last year).
They fired low performers + many of those who were doing work that had no pipeline, low margin at Deloitte (on the onset of uncertainly).

Let me put things into perspective. We have project work and then firm initiatives( mandatory) . If you do good in project and no firm initiatives you are screwed. So hectic projects ( 9-10 hrs of work everyday) plus firm initiatives kills you... so think before you join... what matters you the most... money or spending time with family....
It's creating slides for an RFP and then sharing your screen for a two hour call to a whole bunch of people. Then going back and forth on the same thing.
If you are technical, get in love with excel. You will be asked to provide estimates without requirements based off assumptions, which you will have to come up with. So yeah, FIs are exciting.
I use to close my day almost every day @ 1pm. (Deloitte USI- West coast folks). The culture was extremely toxic. Thankfully I left in 1 year but took sometime recuperating from that experience.
So, a lot of this depends on the team you are working with. I have had few passage of very hectic time at EY as well but Deloitte was just one constant stream of nonsense that never too take a break.
EY> Deloitte anytime based on my experience.
Usually the notion is that RM people have the most chill job and they hardly work for 6 hours. But in reality, I have seen the RM team in Deloitte working 12 hrs a day non stop for months right from the campus hire to the executive manager.
The work will keep on coming non stop and everyone from leadership will tell you that "Your wellbeing is in your own hands", "Take charge of your life", and BS like that. And if you actually do that, know that the year end performance will reflect average ratings.
It's a vicious cycle my friend..
Work life balance is in your hands.
Your FIs are the doors for eminence. Choose something that makes you learn new things. This way you dont have to invest in long learning hours ending it only in theoretical knowledge.
FIs are of multitude varieties. The proposal deck goes through revisions, true, but not all decks. But you need to be sincere is all kinds of tasks. Its important to do most common fIs at least once so that you will know the details while leading in future. Yes, that needs time..so avoid committing to multiple fIs at same time.
Please note 10 hours and above is common even beyond consulting/B4. It is true that wlb is a concern .But yes, it is not something that cannot be managed. You can have stretched hours for(10+)
2 days a week , rest 3 can be a nominal 9-10 hours. That the most practical situation i can see in this topic.
Tell your lead upfront you want a leaner fridays. Nothing wrong with that.
Be honest with your team , try to understand what time of the day when you can contribute the most and respect this for others. What i have seen , you can achieve wlb mostly for all when you team up, rather than individual.
Coming from Wipro buddy sorry to say but you will take around an year or more to adjust first in B4. Secondly the pressure is immense! Great learnings though...
