Speaking from personal experience, it will help big time if you are a good performer and there is a need, even small. I was asking for a rotation for like 6 months and nothing happened. Once I had a job offer and was going to leave the leadership worked their magic and got me a 6 month rotation. The offer I had was in the Seoul where I wanted to be.
** the offer was for the group where I wanted to move internally. This showed that I was serious and will move if I am not accommodate.
Sounds like a bad plan, in either option you are leaving the current SL so there isn’t much incentive for them(pped from your current.group) to give you a raise
Are you 100% sure there’s a need in the other service line? If not, having another offer won’t make a bit of difference.
