You might be staffed on like 15-20 deals at once if you’re in ECEB. Your exit options also are also much more limited

You typically still do plenty of deal work as an EBEC specialist. The demands aren't as harsh as for the corporate folks, but still real. And it's its own little area that some people like and some people hate, so just make sure you know what you're getting into.
Thank you for the insight! I do genuinely enjoy the work—the compliance component, mixed in with some deal work.
I guess I am just comparing the deal-work component in EBEC to the corporate work I have done. That was a nightmare.
Your exit options are slightly better than garbage if you don’t actually do employee benefits (401k/ACA/Welfare Plan work). Firms outsource exec comp regularly because that’s high value work that can be justified.
Got it, thanks everyone! I guess what is the career path for EBEC associates? Say you are not on partner track… then what, if exit ops are garbage?
Any reasons as to why not, LSC1? I’m comparing it to M&A and the workflow seems more manageable.
