I’ve met the new friends I have here by joining local hangout groups and showing up to random events suggested in those groups.
The High museum has regular events that are appropriate for 35+
Following. Haven’t figured this out yet. Didn’t grow up here and it’s proving hard to figure out for me personally

I take it you’re a transplant?
In Georgia, social circles are well-established by the time you’re 25 through family, church, college, or high school groups. Maybe gun or country clubs if that’s your thing. At 35+ you likely have kids and are building connections through their parents.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve increasingly realized that it takes at minimum one generation to build a network in Atlanta
Gym/ running groups
Nearly any running shoe store will have one. Meetups too
Do you need new friends at this stage in your life? Maybe associates, business partners, mentors? Just a thought
I agree. I just stare in the mirror now because friendship is a thing of the past for me.
I joined a small CrossFit gym (and not a douchey one). 99% of my friends are from the gym. People stay rooted to the area just because of the gym and have been involved 5+ years on average.

I’ve had success in Bumble BFF. Sounds weird but most of the people I met were new to the city.
People have lives, friends move to other states/cities for their jobs or families. It’s ok to get the assist.
