Which one is better in terms of compensation, wlb, future growth? Ey - senior technology risk assurance or Pwc - senior risk assurance?

If culture is huge for you EY, Also EY tech risk pays more. I do think and have heard PwC has better tech and some other good perks( pay your phone bill, gives you phone, student loan pay down) but overall I think PwC is more arrogant and prestige. I personally need to be surrounded by humble/ and nice people to work with who want to see me succeed/ help out. I don’t get that on my team, I feel like a burden, so I am leaving. Fitness fund at EY, and compensation is better. I work in DAT(risk assurance) and my wlb has been so so bad. Ofc its team dependent but PwC FS group is brutal, busy season is year long. What comes down to it is having a support group at your firm you choose will make you want to stay!

As a former PwC risk assurance employee, I can tell you no one gave a darn about arrogance or prestige. We just wanted core auditors to stop throwing BS IT dependencies at us that didn’t exist. The core auditors I worked with weren’t snobby either. My guess is some people put on airs at recruiting events to flex with college students. The rest of us just did our jobs hoping we could get home earlier than expected during busy season.

Both super similar. Pwc more respected brand. EY has revenue sharing model so less cut throat as you progress

like

If you and I work on the same pursuit and win, we both get revenue credit. If we sell a 1M engagement, you and I both get recognized for 1M revenue each vs. Splitting it up

I've been at both - EY has better people culture - PwC was more technically cutting edge. Go with the people you are most happy to spend a lot of time with. Neither is a bad choice.

like

PWC is ahead in my opinion, EY still hasn’t figured out how to make their partners collaborate better. I saw a lot of people move from EY to PWC, and while the WLB seems about the same, PWC seems more organised.

like

Agreed, but just know tho at PwC they are a bit more cutthroat, obviously team dependent but my overall experience at pwc I don’t feel supported. Im moving to EY, if your in FSO - goodness I wish you the best at pwc, very tough

PWC.
I’ve worked opposite all the B4 and would put EY 5th.

like

Their teams don’t know how to document IPE, they crop their evidence so tightly it’s almost useless, they don’t issue MW’s.
Hell- I had a team gaslighting me over a password control and kept giving me screenshots of windows AD and telling me it was the application.
I have a grudge against them but the work I’ve gotten from them has always been garbage.

We’ll all three of those contradict each other so I would start there.

PWC.
EY is having lots of issues with their “unlimited” PTO.

Yeah shitty tech, resource constraints and in general asking more from client servers (like back office type tasks) that add to workload

Ey pays more btw

Why has real estate remained lucrative?
Mainly agents but also developers.

The barrier to entry is low, not even sure if graduating high school is needed. My old agent even said she did it bc she can make a lot money and not work that much. She drove a new Mercedes and sent her kids to private school, husband was also an agent.

So I’m curious why it didn’t get flooded and the profit margin dampened to a $/hr closer to other jobs with similarly easy entry?

So I was offered a role in Strategy Consulting in after 2 years in Risk Consulting however, after 2 years I’ve only worked on Internal audit engagements few ad hocs such as updating risk register and the delegation of authority matrix.

Honestly speaking I am doing good and I am up for promotion in October however I am not fully enjoying my time but I fear that the move would not be a good and I can’t hit the ground running which scares me.

Any advice and past experiences in such career shit?
