Which companies have success rates of hiring immigrants with an approved i140... OR has everyone shut down H1 hiring in the market?

I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

"Data Scientist", Azure shop, 5y experience. Been stuck doing python dev/client team augmentation for the last 18 months (several clients).

So demotivated+disillusioned, does anyone in consulting actually do DS projects? - this is the same reason I left my last role, 6 months of interesting work and then endless dev work. Predictive models are dangled just out of reach to stop us quitting.

No longer feel qualified to apply for actual DS roles outside because I've not done any ML in so long.

I’m curious to know how many job requisitions a typical full time recruiter has? My job is a hybrid role and I am currently managing 30 reqs. Recruiting is supposed to take up to 10% of my workload. Am I being given too much responsibility?

Resigning from my firm end of next week and supposed to start the following Monday at a new role (2 weeks from yesterday). I am in the final round of my dream role and sounds like they are going to make an offer. Should I renege on my currently signed offer before my background check clears at the dream role? SOS. How do I know if I’m being paid fairly? Is it me or does it seem like companies are hiring but not really hiring? For example, you wasted all of that time going through the interview process, completed it, and then they’re putting the position on hold or you had a great interview, they tell you had a great interview, the interviews like you, you had a great answers but they didn’t select you due to “business needs/growth/direction of the company.”
