In risk management you decide which controls need to be tested
Yah still trying to figure that out on my end
My plan is to only stay one more year and then move into an accounting role. I will have my CPA and actually enjoy accounting much more. Not sure if I want to go into financial audit or something else. Currently searching for a better fit.
I would say it may not be "exit ops" but if you're still young, use this experience and find a role that fits you. Don't be limited by what you're supposed to go into after or who will give you a huge raise (unless you can stand controls work and want the cash). It's not worth doing what you hate and you aren't locked into anything.
I’m in the same boat, after CPA may try go to external audit for a couple years to open up more exit ops when I hit senior. Then try to go to TAS or a financial analyst positions somewhere
EY wants you to keep cranking. Definitely find another firm.
CPA and made sr. promo in RA-IA. Made switch to regional PA core assurance. Don't do it. Repeat DON'T DO IT.
You are better off going to industry if you want a more technical, non-ctrl, accounting role. Don't discount yourself on actg knowledge. I've corrected sr mgr and partner on certain actg principles. You probably know more about actg than a 2 yr audit associate.
