The problem with being a manager isn't necessarily the total workload.

38 hours sounds great until you figure out that those 38 hours can happen at any time of the day. A busy season day might mean I am doing nothing from 9AM to 5PM... and then the staff submits something to me that needs to be reviewed by the next day. Guess who is pulling an all nighter?

Additionally, there are client asks early in the morning if you are on the west coast or later in the evening if you are on the east coast.

Mandatory admin is at least 25% of my day. There is always some training, billing, planning, coaching, etc that I am responsible for. So that a minimum 50 hour week, with only 38 billable.

Whenever i have a big deadline, my body goes into a panic mode where my energy immediately goes to figuring out how I’ll get something done well and on time. Outwardly, I don’t seem stressed so no one notices but actually I usually feel like I have a cold: fatigue, headache, sore throat, sinus infection. When a task is done, i stop feeling like crap. It’s been like this since law school. Any tips on managing stress or moving towards doing good work without my body shutting down lol?

Anyone know a Connecticut or 2nd circuit case for this rule? I can’t find one to save my life. If a defendant's negligence was a substantial factor in producing the plaintiff's injuries, the element of proximate cause has been satisfied and the defendant would not be relieved from liability for those injuries even though another force concurred..

Hi everyone! What are the best ESG boutique firms? Also for DEI, Purpose, and Sustainability?

Hi! I’ve been in the ESG space for nearly 7 years and submitted an app for an ESG Consulting role at PwC. My app was unfortunately rejected. Now, my app is ‘under review’ in the system. Between the time of the rejection and reversal, I’ve made connections with people in the department and the role has been reopened/reposted. Should I reapply using a referral and revamped resume or just try my luck with the application that’s now ‘under review?’ I want to be sure my chances are better this time.
