Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? Yes and No the target audience is technical skills which a lot of Indians happen to focus on
Why do I fell I’m smelling a MAGA here? Does anybody else think so too?
Not sure what that means
Because they need the visas and will accept working for less more often in order to keep status. If you don’t need the visa then Deloitte’s compensation is kinda awful and people normally leave so it’s not like Deloitte is targeting them specifically it’s more likely that’s just who they end up with.
Yup, and that’s where the problem is. Why not hire them without any bias in the core consulting work stream? Why show the visa option and give low grade salaries? It’s true that Indians fall for the visa sponsorship because they have no other option but to take it up to maintain their status in the US.
USDC is work that can’t be outsourced to India.
If you have such feeling, none stops you to leave USDC,,, all the best
Yes. I got some good informative responses from others.
How much is typical salary in USDC based on a visa
Pro
OP you said you’ve been here a long time so $100k makes sense. But for those homegrown SS who have less than 5 yrs at the company are not seeing $100k+. USDC was starting SA’s at $59k just up until last year..
Majboori ka naam - us desi
D7 - Yup, that’s right. Unfortunately Indians are helpless and fall for the trap.
I am guessing you don’t have much job experience outside of USDC?
You’ll find mostly Indians in all tech heavy job settings (which is exactly what USDC is).
I have worked for multiple clients in multiple locations in the country and it’s mostly Indians (on visa, on gc, and citizens).
People complaining about lowers salaries because we are on a visa are free to interview for core consulting and get paid higher if they agree to travel or have the core consulting skill set.
It’s simply not true that folks with visa get lower salaries. We just happen to live in a LCOL city which helps reduce the bill rates for clients.
I'm USDC and it feels like a staffing department. A lot of staffing companies look to India/Indians because of the sheer amount of people there.
Been at D for a bit over 3 years and met some smart and friendly Indians. But, I gotta say, the way Indians treat their own is awful. They are absolutely ruthless to their own. Also, their tendency to sacrifice their entire life to their job crates a very toxic culture/environment that ultimately affects non-indians. I think it's partly to do with them being afraid to lose their Deloitte sponsorship so they're willing to work insane hours for little pay.
Yes I agree with you about the sponsorship part. They’re very smart, but not so fortunate when it comes to visa sponsorship and maintaining their status. It’s the sad reality of every immigrant Indian here in the US. I’ve been through that myself, but was lucky enough to not get dragged in the visa hassle for long.
