Nick in the US had done a great job keeping the IT intrusion to an absolute minimum before. Our machines were not really locked down at all and we were free to do almost anything on them. And everything worked fantastically. The fact that when COVID hit and basically everything continued working without a hitch (with the whole firm suddenly moving to need the VPN), was a testament to his setup.

But Europe IT had always locked everything down, so those policies eventually made their way globally.

You are not wrong that they are slower because there are a bunch of software systems running constantly behind the scenes blocking things and monitoring. It sucks.

🤣🤣 we should probably ask IT, not fellow fishies. Though I agree, seems like last month or so there have been more required reboots than usual

Also PowerPoint can be insanely slow. Never used to happen to me like this at my previous company

How many billable hours do people in prosecution tend to average each month? I’ve gone through waves of feeling like my billable hours requirement is reasonable to feeling like I’m drowning and can’t possibly do it for that long.

First question here. B Business Applied Finance degree, finished by the end of 2020. I have experience in multiple roles in different industries, customer service 10+ years experience. I started a new job in a private lending company 6 months ago, excelled in everything and I’m doing everything from managing client enquiries to credit applications and enquiries, financial analysis. It’s a small company and you must work around the clock. I’m currently at $70k and I’m trying to negotiate to $85k

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!
