My org just had layoffs, and force rank, skills, and personalities played a huge factor, not gender.
I want to work at a company like that 😁 without the layoffs.
OP, Despite the HOPs (Handmaidens of Patriarchy) coming in here to take potshots at you, your question is valid, and the answer is SEXISM in STEM

OP I was replying to the comment made by someone else, not your comment.
In response to you, framing your question as women are getting laid off first and are doing all the work, right? Makes it hard for people to agree with you since you’ve framed it so narrowly. I agree women are disproportionately impacted by layoffs. I also may agree women do a disproportionate amount of the work, but don’t have enough information to know if my inclination there is true.
If you try framing your questions more broadly, or leave room for opinions that are slightly different, I would guess you’ll get more general discussion and agreement.
I actually love where this conversation went. And I’m so glad you are not all feeling the same thing.
What? I have not seen that
I don’t feel they are? I’ve never seen women be the first and only to go.
