Boston rents are 10% lower, general CoL is 5% lower. Cultural and culinary opportunities are 50% lower.
10% lower than nyc is still high af lol
One element missing in the above comments.
It’s very easy to leave Boston for the weekend. Outside of commuting hours you can typically be fully out of the city in under 20 minutes and headed for an adventure.
The airport is also super conveniently placed and covers a significant percentage of the globe, Japan to Europe to the Middle East hubs, as well as most of the Caribbean, Central America, and even into South America.

Take the job and allow the location to follow. Both cities are awesome. You aren’t being asked about Akron.
Best answer!
and both are so damn close to one another!
NYC is currently run by a sociopath, but still NYC since it will come back from this
Guys an idiot, but sociopath? Not sure you know what that word means.
Boston is almost as expensive to live in as NYC, but with half the culture. It's very global relative to the vast majority of US cities, but that's not saying much. It's no NYC.
I would live in Boston over NYC. Way fewer people, clean city, young population. Boston is pretty, nyc is not.

If given the choice, Boston and the surrounding area is for people who already have family in the area or want to live somewhere that upholds an America of a bygone past (see: Bill Russell break in for one exhibit)
The spirit of Massachusetts is the spirit of America!
Do you want the velocity of NYC? You could thrive there or it could chew you up and spit you out. If you’re looking for smart people who care for a slightly slower pace, go Boston. You want to kill it and cut your teeth for a few years? Go NYC
Totally a personal choice. I love NYC and Boston can’t compare food wise and events wise but NYC also is way too hectic for me. Boston is the balance I love between things to do without it feeling too “always on.” Boston suburbs are also cheaper within a smaller radius.
Neither.
The entire city of Boston fits inside of Central Park.

Boston is super clean compared to nyc
Depends on cultural fit. Read your Woodard 😉
Depends on the compensation, we had a guy come from Texas to be a GIS manger in the Boston area. He recently left for Oklahoma, he said it was to expensive to live here, he would never have come if he knew the cost of living.
