Is she there to check you into rehab? Cause if she isn’t, I will
Think we need a bowl for this one - think there are many of us in this situation .
Hey OP, every second is a second chance - it’s such a cheesy line but it’s true. It’s never too late to dive into therapy, or inpatient (rehab) or outpatient therapy programming. Make sure you work with your therapy team to create an ongoing support plan including accountability and checkpoints.
It’ll be tough *and* it’ll be worth it.
^P1 don't be a dick
In almost a year? Congrats. But also... go check yourself into a program, even if it's just an AA program once a week. If someone told me they hadn't had a sober night in a few weeks i would be concerned, let alone a few months. This may sound tough but it's tough love, I promise. Good luck!
Unfortunately I’ve been able to function as a normal human being during 8am-8pm, so the dependency hasn’t not been seen by people outside of my small circle. Took my dad’s loss very badly and the fact that I’ve always been on the edge with my anxiety didn’t help either.
And saying from a personal experience I think I should’ve tried more therapy or something like meditation, and less of prescription pills.
We all function “normally”? During the day, but personally I dig into vino right after work. You (and we) are not alone. Our lifestyle isn’t an excuse, but it certainly doesn’t help
She definitely gives me the much needed strength, but I should relapsing here shortly since she’s gone
Get yourself some real help OP. Even if it’s just calling your firm’s assist line. Strangers on the internet aren’t the solution to what you’re going through. I hope you feel better!
Dude. You need help. Take control of this before it controls you even more

P1- I think that’s her game plan let’s see...
OP - by strength, do you mean ability to put up with inlaw or ability to not drink?
Goodluck buddy
