Have you looked at rescues or shelters? Many have pure breds.
Agree. Major pet peeve.
So you want to buy a dog
Omg. We have a coton. There is a good breeder we found in recently years from extensive research in WA (we are in WA) I have in my back pocket so in case we want a second one. It’s called “a touch of class cotons”. They have a fb page and they had a litter in August. They only do one litter a year or something.
Our original breeder passed away so couldn’t go back to her.
Purchasing a dog is not “adopting.”
If you are wanting to go this route versus legitimate adoption, under absolutely no circumstances should you ever, ever purchase a dog online. It is one of the most irresponsible and reproachable, not to mention straight-up stupid, things you can do. Second would be purchasing a dog/animal from a pet store (e.g. Petland to that neighborhood shop that always has the ~cutest~ pups in plastic boxes in the window).
The thought of either honestly makes my stomach ache. Do the due diligence and educate yourselves before making any moves. It is your obligation committing to a lifetime of your new family member.
Pro
If you do consider online, I have two pups from this company and they really do work with top notch breeders.

getting from a breeder is not adopting.
