When the application says a cover letter is optional and not really required, should I still be attaching a cover letter?

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

I interviewed for a job a month ago. A few weeks after the interview, I was told my feedback was good, but the company was evaluating all positions at the company at this time. Today, I saw the job is no longer posted, but my application is still "active" in the workday system. Anyone have any idea what this would mean? I don't want to continuously bother the recruiter.

Startup staffing question…do you think it’s professional/ethical to check references for multiple candidates before making an offer? Just had a company ask for my references and then tell me that they’re still reviewing four candidates. I never would’ve offered my manager if I knew in advance.

I cleared Accenture Tech round, and they have sent a mail asking to fill in EAF . Should I wait for HR discussion and then do it? One of my friends didnt have HR round for salary discussion. After Tech round, they directly sent offer letter. When he asked for HR discussion for salary negotiation, they said nothing can be done. Does this happen a lot in Accenture?

Has anyone had a recruiter change your resume before sending it to a company? I had an interview where the person asked me about my experience with X after seeing my resume. I took a look at the version I sent the recruiter and it didn’t include anything about working on X.

Had a great interview process with a company and appreciated their insistence on valuing employees and the growth of their people.
Then I get hit with an exploding offer right before close of business on Friday and it needs to be signed before midnight Sunday.
Nothing screams being a valued employee like an exploding offer. 🤡

Applied to GCP L4 PM role, went straight to on-site, and when I talked to my new recruiter, they said they determined I didn’t need to go through domain specific rounds anymore, and is now a generalist interview. Does anyone know why?

Does your firm consider Asian Americans to be POC for purposes of partnership promotions, etc.? I have multiple times now been purposefully staffed with other POC (non-Asian) attorneys and have been told to staff juniors who are women. I don’t mind this, of course, but it honestly feels like they don’t consider me an “actual” minority and that it’s not enough. If there is, e.g., a black attorney and a partner on a team, this never comes up.
