With all the hype around returning to the office, what are the real advantages?

Does meeting stakeholders in person make a difference in collaboration and decision-making?
Does being in the office improve networking opportunities?
How does it benefit employees in terms of growth and productivity?

What’s your take on the return to office—do the benefits outweigh the drawbacks?

This newer will completely vary by type of company, role, and generation of person. For me personally, I like being in office some for face time with others, makes forming relationships easier, better, and faster. Def don’t want 5 days in office, but 2-3 is perfect for me considering nearly all the people I work with r in that office as well. If no one u work with is, there is point in it.

Hi all, I am a structural engineer looking to pivot to management consulting. I have a PhD in civil engineering and am a licensed PE. Currently I am not finding my profession fulfilling due to many barriers for progress. I have a strong statistics background and am looking to switch to a fast paced career in management consulting. Does anyone have any advice on the optimal way to pivot careers? Am I too late to switch? Should I get a career coach?

I guess they didn’t like bleeding so they’re trying to manipulate the markets in their favor AGAIN.

I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.

It was extended before the recent announcement that TCs are going up but I don’t know if I’d be impacted regardless.

I’m trying to pivot to PM after >3 years in finance and I have a 2nd round interview with CPO this week. Company has 3.7 on Glassdoor with complaints about CEO, “bro-y” culture, and hard to wfh. It’s a data analytics company with 5 PMs, was bought by a PE firm this year, and has a new (female) CEO as of Oct. Role is 50/50 hybrid, pays well vs what I make, and most importantly would be a foot in the door to PM. Is this a good place to be for PM? What else do I need to find out to know for sure?

I'm working at a startup where I feel like I've spent as much time trying to deal with product issues vs working on roadmap items. I get this is bound to happen in a start up but is this common? I'm not sure what to do. It seems like no one really thought about the architecture or ux as much as they should have in my opinion. I need some advice.
