Beginning to consider going in house (4th, corp) - I really haven’t thought about what I want, partly because I’m not sure what’s out there/attainable. Is it a bad idea to start by applying to a couple positions that interest me and seeing where that gets me? What can a junior associate do about a mid-level that constantly asks questions about things they were cc’d on, sends dozens of piecemeal emails and is generally just super high strung and needs everything right away?? No other mid-levels I’ve worked with act this way and this individual I’m working with is driving me insane and I’ve spent countless hours attaching emails and saying “as explained in the attached email…”

I turned the offer down. A partner that I clicked with while interviewing reached out asking me why I turned down the offer. Should I be honest and relay what I heard?

Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm doing patent work. I applied to a part time masters program to try to pivot to a different technical field (still doing patent work, but in something that interests me more than what I’m doing now). Do I try to stick it out at the firm while getting the masters, ask for a reduced hours schedule, or get a part time, non-legal job so I can focus more on the program (one year).
