The only friends I have going into the office deal with leadership that is fraught with other issues. In my opinion, a company willing to put the health of its workers at risk has an overall employee appreciation issue. Think about it this way: if this is how they react during a global pandemic, how will they treat you in normal times?
^this, 100%. Leadership is showing disregard for the well-being of the staff, it’s saying they are too disorganized to adapt to working effectively under novel/challenging circumstances, and it shows they can’t think critically and appropriately evaluate risk:benefit. Not the kind of agency that will succeed in the long run, or give you a healthy culture and support.
I would question the culture of any nyc agency making people come in right now.
I’ve found that the agencies making people come in are led by Trump supporters who still think the “C” in COVID means “just a cold.” I heard Zimmerman (staunch FLA Republican) tried pulling this BS too. Not sure where it netted out though.

In NY? That’s surprising. I haven’t heard of any agencies here that are making anyone come in since last spring.
Yeah, they said they’re rotating in groups of 6 which I guess is better than a larger group distanced but still. 1) why? And 2) wearing a mask all day in office when I can do better work from the safety of my home feels ridiculous.
I have heard of some agencies opening up (optional) and the teams are quite happy. Not mandatory in-person but optional seems to be a good middle ground.
A few of my friends said their office is open for sign up based and it sounds nice to get out of your space but like you said it’s optional.
