First year here in a quiet patch (following a very busy period). There have been a few days where I bill 0 hours, which I’m told isn’t worth worrying about in this quiet time. But how do you spend your time on days when you bill nothing? This is a major stress for me. Cheers!

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

How in the *expletive* do people maintain full time big law jobs while studying for the bar?! I lateraled from a UBE jurisdiction to CA, and although I've retained ~some~ MBE info, it's way harder this time around trying to balance work (last time it was after law school/before work began).

I'm 2 weeks in and have a few months to go. Please share with me success stories of working full time in a big law gig and still passing the bar, because right now this is feeling like Mission Impossible ☠

What types of work accommodations can help people with ADHD? I am starting to believe 35+ of having not managed my ADHD has really negatively impacted me in career growth etc. I'm realizing a lot of things about myself are because of the ADHD. I want better for myself and family but 1. I don't enjoy the same things forever 2. Imposter syndrome and RSD make me believe it's acceptable to start over in new places at low salaries. 3. Typical college won't work for me. 4. I also can't relocate.

What is comp like in Minneapolis firms? Do some pay significantly better than others, or are they all the same? Spouse’s family in MN so considering a move, but I make DPW scale currently (am a litigation associate) and the salary estimate I got from a firm in MN would be 40% less than what I currently make! Thoughts on getting fed government jobs? I'm a first year associate in a specialized transaction group in DC and I fucking hate it. I had an internship at a federal department in school but after that went 2L SA/firm. Any hope of finding something? Right now my plan is to just start spamming USAjobs and hope something eventually sticks.

Those of you who have transferred offices at the same firm, how did it go? How did you present the request? I am a junior hoping to transfer from a satellite to a larger market’s office.

Am I screwed? I’m on track for about 1300 billables for 2021, target is 2000. While one month I did not reach out for work every other month I have, including the heads of my groups, and have told many people I am slow and can take on work. I had 4 deals die/get pushed this December, so this month was significantly slower than anticipated. Additionally, the main partner I work with has been out for months with a serious health issue.
