With summer officially here, I'm preparing for some time out of office and want to make sure my team is ok to keep things moving while I'm out.

I'll usually put together a doc that outlines projects and current status but how do you approach making sure seamless coverage while you're on PTO and that you can actually disconnect from work?

Along the same lines, but I usually send an email to me whole team and assign each person a color so they can keep on top of their tasks - the email also includes links to all potential documents they need and people they can reach out to in my absence. Also directly adding people to email chains before you leave so they can just keep in the loop.

Set up quick (10-min) meetings with each person who is covering your work so you can answer any immediate questions and get their commitment to handle the tasks.

Color coding email is great.

I’ll also usually aim to schedule 1:1s with the key people taking over the most important work to talk over handovers (mostly if it’s critical for success projects). I find that helpful to talk through nuances that I don’t want to put in writing or would make an email/handover doc too detailed.

Agreed. Sometimes its easier just to hash some things out on the phone to prep

I second all of the above! Another thing I like to do is outline who to contact for whoever my OOO POC is, so they can easily direct any emails to the right team members (and helps so things don’t get piled up while I’m out)

yeah sometimes all you need is just someone to point other people in the right direction while you're out so things don't just completely sit.

Should I take more initiative? It’s my stub year and I’m getting worried. Should I be reaching out more?

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. So confused how this works and got conflicting information from Merrill.

- how many active pitches you send per month for those clients on average

Thanks all!
