Working in the dispute department makes me wonder why people ignore simple details we request to support their claims. Recently, a customer was asked multiple times for a specific, very simple detail, yet each time he sent irrelevant info. I politely explained it was missing, but he insisted he’d already provided it. It felt like he was avoiding it on purpose, and then people blame companies for not helping them. Laziness does not yield anything.

It is amazing how careless some people can be. And then they blame everybody else for their mistakes. It makes me wonder how they are in every other aspect of their life…

Right? I think about that too. How do they manage their other life stuff. God knows to be honest.

Some people just don't understand what we say. Did you show the person what you wanted as info?

Yes, I did, and the customer kept insisting they had sent it. I kept repeating that if they had, I would have seen it by now. He finally said he’d send it, but I’m pretty sure he won’t.

Here’s the thing—sometimes people just don’t want to face the hassle or admit they don’t have the info. But yeah, when the details are that straightforward, dragging it out only makes things harder for everyone involved.

The issue is that agents must follow the rules; otherwise, customers have slim chances of winning a claim. We only ask them to complete certain steps to help their case, but many think we’re just giving them unnecessary tasks, when in reality it’s for their benefit.

I feel you. It’s crazy how often the simplest requests get ignored, and then the blame somehow lands on the company instead of just following instructions.

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. I’ve run into an issue a couple of times where the client doubts my advice because I am only 2 years in. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I address the fact that I’m only 2 years in?

How often do you all review your rates? I’m 6 months into partnership and my rate is the same as it was two years ago when I started at this firm as a 4th year (currently had a license just over 6 years and the 5.5 I’ve been in practice are all domestic relations)

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

I would appreciate some advice on my situation below.
About three months ago, I was applying to find a new job. A month later, I got an offer, came work for this firm. I am not feeling like this would be a great environment for me. So I accepted a job interview this week but when I sent them the resume was 3 months ago so i didnt have my current job on there. Should I tell them my job has changed since? I am worried that if i dont tell them, they will find out when doing background check.

I work 2 part-time jobs. I just requested a pay raise at my ABA job which they approved on by 10%. My other job is in Mental Health has a flat rate with no chance to request a raise, turns out I'm not required to work the full 20hrs/Week meaning that when there's no work to complete I won't be getting paid. I've only been here 8months & want to leave as I need the money. Should I start looking elsewhere even if I haven't been here for a year?

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
