Needing a third party opinion because I feel like my boyfriend isn’t over his ex but he says he is.

We’ve been together for a year and over time I’ve started to notice that a lot of his interests/things he does/quirks/etc are based off his ex. They were together for 4 years so I kind of understand, but at the same time I question if he has any sense of individuality. I haven’t been in any super serious relationship until this one so I’ve had time to find my independence. What do yall think?

I joined a later stage startup as a corporate strategy “manager”. I put manager in quotes as there’s no one else in strategy. It was fun the first 6 months when I helped raise equity and create an initial 5 year plan, but for the past 2-3 months I’ve been essentially doing FP&A work. What kind of opportunities are out there after this one?

Got an offer for McK & BCG for lateral hire, but gotta start over from MBA level. Is it really worth the switch? Considering:
- I’m 1.5 year at T2 (think S&/OW/Kearney), and the work we do seem comparable
- will take pay cut to move
- have an MBA from hsw, unsure if exit would really be better from networking perspective
- a bit concerned about the negative posts recently about working at these firms
- plan to stay ~2 more years in consulting, but not opposed to more if I enjoy it

I remember a day when we were here to help clients. Now I just feel like we are here to bill clients. I want to go help someone build something.
Now I just need to figure out how a director with a tax background can have transferable skills to something else...

What can I do to differentiate and also how do I prevent being overworked? I’m scared I would say I’m interested in partner, but then the firm seeing me as a workhorse and not promoting me.
