I made a “milestone stay” at Ritz in LA when I hit Titanium last month. While I was welcomed by some macarons and a personal letter, I wasn’t informed that the stay would double my base points (I spent $2k in room charge, which got me 40k base points instead of only 20k).

Is that a discretionary move by the property manager, by the Bonvoy team, a stated policy or just a technical glitch?
