12k would not be enough for me even with 100% remote but its all subjective
Social equity might go down the hill as people leave and the top changes messaging. I left this past year into industry and I couldn’t be happier. While Crowe wasn’t yet PE acquired you could see how the culture was changing for the worst. Sometimes you just need to change and you’ll be surprised at what you encounter.
My specialty was just ASC with financial institutions. I’m in one now just in a different niche. But provision work is provision work it doesn’t change. I changed because I realized I don’t want to be partner so why sit around. My total comp now is more than what MDs made at Crowe in my office so I think I made the right choice. And I get to work significantly less and actually enjoy my money and have actual work life balance.
The trade off was 3 days in the office rather than maybe 1-2x per month. But it’s worth it.
Which firm do you currently work for?
I have never heard of 100% of the hours.
I don't think the money and remote sounds good obviously. You just need to convince yourself if it's worth sticking out at the current firm with the intangibles that are important to you. If not, there's no reason to say no to this opportunity. It's unknown? Yes, Is there a chance it'll be bad? Maybe. You miss a 100% of the shots you don't make it. good luck
True. I think part of the reason I’m afraid to switch is because change is hard. It’s way easier to stay in your safe zone and not feel like you have to prove yourself all over again.
