It’s different than tech ops. We can't overestimate the value of tech. Yes, it’s great for playing games and forwarding funny emails. But real business is done on paper, okay? Write that down.

Ops - daily operations. Biz ops - ensuring the business strategy can be met through daily operations. So, more defining “which things should we do, how these things should work” while operations does the work. It really is the management consulting of industry.
I guess a sub-sector of Operations as a whole? Like building Ops, Sales Ops, financial ops? Not sure..

For us it’s usually the reporting people.
In my old firm, Biz Ops was a sub group and they primarily did digital payments work (so optimizing of traditional payments into streamlined digital). Also did mortgage related transformations. Seems to be more enhancement of common biz processes

Operations = Ops that touch the product or customer
